Adjusting Ones Training To Allow For Mobility Issues

Rather than just say to your client, stop training because you dont have the requisite mobility, often I will look to work around this adapt their exercise program whilst we are working on improving their mobility and strength.  In the video below you will see an example of this where we have one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing an elevated box squat that allows them to maintain appropriate posture and technique through the selected range. This therefore allows them to start grooving a squat (box squat) pattern whilst loading the body safely in the range that they are capable of performing.  The client is often much happier because they are perhaps also doing exercises that they are familiar with.  Rather than having them perform a whole bunch of correctives that they are not familiar with or perhaps dont see it as exercise.
