Band Assisted Bodyweight Row

The powerband is a great training tool accessory to allow one to either increase or decrease the resistance/load when training.  The band can be attached to either increase resistance through a movement or decrease the resistance through a movement.  In the video below we see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrate a band assisted bodyweight row.  He is using a 41 inch yellow powerband from Ironedge that is attached to the bar and then wraps around his torso/waist.  The band therefore reduces the resistance at at the bottom of the bodyweight row because the band is being stretched at its maximum ability within the exercise at this point.  As he pulls himself up towards the bar, the band resistance reduces and the assistance of the band decreases.  This is a great way to get clients to feel the whole movement of the bodyweight row if they are not yet quite strong enough to perform a full movement themselves.
