Band Hip Thruster

This exercise was inspired by an instagram video by Bret Contreras who writes regularly in the field of strength and conditioning field.  Read more about Bret by clicking here.

The Hip Thruster is an exercise that involves moving the hips from flexion to extension to work the posterior chain.  It can be performed in a variety of positions and with a variety of tools.  In this video you will see osteopath Heath Williams performing a band resisted hip thruster that has him moving from kneeling to tall kneeling.  It can also be performed in the supine position with the knees bent with bodyweight, band or external weight resistance.
