Cable Shrugs For Upper Trap Training

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating a standing cable shrug exercise.  This a great variation on the shrug because one can change the angle of the arm i.e. 30 degrees abducted from the body when performing the shrug.  Typically shrugs are performed with a barbell (fixed hand position) or dumbbell (hands usually placed by the side of the body) and this makes it difficult to adjust the arm angle. The key with this exercise is to maintain straight arms and to not pull through the elbows (bending the elbows).
