Foot Pain and Ankle Pain

Foot Pain and Ankle Pain

The foot and ankle are probably two of the most used joints in the body and it is no wonder that many people often develop foot pain and ankle pain.  When it comes to injuries incurred in sport, the ankle is the most commonly injured, with the inversion (lateral ankle) sprain being the most common injury.

At Principle Four Osteopathy we see clients presenting to the clinic with both acute foot pain and ankle pain as well as chronic overuse related complaints resulting in foot pain and ankle pain.  Acute foot pain and ankle pain may result from trauma i.e. fractures, soft tissue strains, ligament sprains, stress fractures and chronic complaints resulting from overuse i.e. achilles tendinopathy, posterior tibialis tendinopathy and plantarfasciopathy.

When you present to see an osteopath at Principle Four Osteopathy we will typically undertake a detailed case history, followed by an assessment before providing any treatment and management advice.
