Multi Directional Hamstring Mobiliser – More Than Just A Static Stretch

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating a wall supported (hands on wall) multi directional hamstring mobiliser.  This is just one of many ways to stretch/mobilise the hamstring across multiple planes by using the body to drive the movement.  You can start this by setting yourself up into a static hamstring stretch (in this case I have selected a partial knee bend with tilt through the spine).  I have then elected to perform an anterior/posterior pelvic tilt to create a more sagittal plane biased stretch/mobiliser.  You will also see a side to side hip drive (frontal plane bias) and trunk rotation (transverse plane bias).  One can self select the rate of movement and duration depending on comfort and time available.
