Plank Core Exercise With Multiplane Leg Driver

The plank is probably one of the most commonly prescribed bracing exercises for core/trunk stability and involves the individual maintaining a stable/stiff torso hold against gravity.  In the video below you will see osteopath Heath William of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrate a progression on this commonly prescribed drill by adding in limb movement (across all three planes of motion, in this case hip extension, hip abduction and rotation through the hip).  The aim is to maintain trunk stability whilst moving one limb at a time.
