Shoulder | Scapular & Upper Trap Loading Strategy

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a band resisted scapular retraction and shrug as well as dumbbell loaded version.  The band tension is naturally pulling the shoulder girdle forward and down due to its orientation and the aim is to gently shrug the shoulder up to load the upper trap.  We have prescribed 10 reps (5 second isometric hold at the top) bodyweight + band, then 2kg progression.
