Many clients who attend Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Massage Therapists and Chiropractors attend for the treatment of an injury, with the primary goal of removing the pain. Often hands on manual therapy is provided and in many situations, the client reports a resolution of pain.

The question I often ask myself is, why do these clients often return again reporting the same injury or pain? In situations where there hasn’t been trauma, many of these injuries recur because the symptom was treated and not the actual cause. Other reasons are because maintaining and aggravating factors have not been addressed. In others it is simply because they have not addressed the rehabilitation or corrected the underlying dysfunction properly.

This is where a Rehabilitation and Corrective Exercise consultations can help. Once we have identified the exact cause of your pain, address the symptoms and identify where movement patterns are dysfunction, which tissues are either too tight, where there is a lack of stability or motor control, we can prescribe an exercise program to help address these areas.
